We’ve seen some pretty rainbows over the years. We’ve seen them from campgrounds, while driving, while cruising, in Alaska, in Scotland, and in our back yard. Here are a few…
These two were shot from our deck. I had combined them to compare the growth of our cypress trees along the fence line over a five year period.
But this one never fails to bring a tear to my ear. It’s our sweet pup, Murphy, who had terminal cancer. When hubby took him for his final sleep, he noticed a small rainbow in the distance and took this photo for me.
My A-Z this year are random thoughts, ideas, and whatever pops into my mind for the letter of the day. As in previous years, I will keep it short and sweet.
Till next time…

Love these!
Donna, it’s funny how rainbows show up at significant moments in our lives. Maybe that’s what the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is all about?
I like that way of thinking!!
Lovely photos – rainbows never fail to cheer and instill a sense of optimism for me.
Yes! They always make me smile…
The last rainbow I saw was September 20, 2024. I took a picture of it and I remember we were going somewhere …I don’t remember where. But there was something significant about that rainbow, like God was reminding us about His promise. Seven days later Helene hit and a tornado went right through our yard and took out most of the trees around the property…but never touched the house. They always make me smile too.
How amazing!!!!! Thanks for sharing…
Oh, I love rainbows. They do show up at the best times. It was very sweet of your husband to take that photo for you. Lovely captures!
Thanks, Brenda.
So many rainbows. I only saw a rainbow once and never again but it was quite lovely.
Have a lovely day.
Keep looking after the rain and hopefully you will see one again!
I love rainbows and we get some beauties here, many of which are doubles. Could be something to do with being so close to sea.
You might be right…I haven’t seen a double in quite some time and I’m landlocked here in the middle of Tennessee.
I’m a big fan of rainbows too and try to capture them whenever possible. The rainbow with your sweet pup is very moving, I’m so glad your husband saw it and thought to capture it! And the growth of your cypress grove is quite stunning in such a short period!

I am, too. It makes us both weepy but we know he’s no longer suffering and the rainbow was there to greet him.
I love rainbows – I saw a double one the other day, it was spectacular!
We see doubles so rarely, they are breathtaking!!
I love rainbows! I saw a double rainbow in Arizona over a decade ago and still picture it randomly. So beautiful.

If it rains and then the sun comes out, I’ll be watching for the rainbow!! Doubles are so rare but so memorable.
Sorry about your pup. Love the rainbow pictures. 🌈 Always nice to see those.
